This REAL TIME contest invites your Neurographic Art exploration of the Celtic Triangle or triquetra shape which employs three arcs (lending itself well to the softened angles of Neurographic expression) and I am so excited in anticipation of the range of authentic, ambling Neuro-interpretation to follow!! Its Triune lines form the spiritual basis of so many Celtic shapes...the Celtic (love) Knot, the Awen, and myriad variations of the Triquetra itself. My choice of this shape for this month is to allow your intuitive muse to honor the Celts as my husband is of Celtic descent and so are many of my friends.
Either randomly or intentionally, please select: Colour pencils, pens, sharpies, etc. and apply the CRITERIA (below), holding the intention of the TRIQUETRA, allowing the thickening lines to merge, intersect and FEELing the neurons as they thicken and BLEND into your Neurographic Art themed expressions!
DEFINITION: Neurographic Art is a drawing TECHNIQUE (developed in 2014 by Russian psychologist, Pavel Piskarev):
PROCESS: Gather...
1. Your favorite Pens, Pencils, Colour Pencils, sharpies, gelpens, stylus …etc.
2. Your favorite substrate…paper, yupo, vellum, canvas…etc.
3. Breathe in the desire to RELAX and De-stress and allow your intuitive creativity to …FLOW within the criteria of the NEUROGRAPHIC ART TECHNIQUE described below:
CRITERIA:
1. BEGIN drawing OFFSIDE random lines into and off the paper’s edge in a slow, free flowing, ambling fashion, creating intersections, while holding the TRIQUETRA image.
2. Thicken some of the lines to define and form shape(s) of the TRIQUETRA.
3. Finish by FILLING IN the interstices creating 'NEURONs', curving any angles out to soften any points of intersection in a fashion resembling the neural patterns of our brain.
(Check out the contest logo or approved entries, or Pavel Piskarev's uTube tutorials. NO ART TRAINING is required …this is an intuitive, relaxing exercise; photographers, digital and artists ALL, please consider adding this unique form of expression to your aesthetic).
CRITERIA NOTE: this is NOT continuous line, ZenTangle, doodle, etc. or Abstract Art …It is - NEUROGRAPHIC Art! While you might mix in some other line-style ACCENTS, without that mix of thin and defined lines originating and ending offside as well as roundly thickened interstices (simulating brain neurons) that make the image recognizable as NEUROGRAPHIC ART, your image will be removed without notice…no matter how amazing the other styles of drawing may be.
4. VISIT the group discussion threads for some developmental tips and visual invitations.
PLEASE SUBMIT up to four (4) CRITERIA COMPLIANT Neurographic images with a Focus that holds the ..three (3) intersecting arcs of the TRIQUETRA ...as you amble and scrawl in a 15-30 min neural exercise while exploring the Neurographic Art technique and, afterwards, recording the experience in the contest thread …RELAX …breathe, and release. LET GO and follow your neural path.
The challenge in this REAL TIME contest will be in developing the NEURONS at neural intersections while honoring the integrity of the ARC'd TRIANGULAR shape of the Celtic TRIQUETRA! This will demand delicacy, a tender touch and authentic self expression.
As always, NO Nudity, Violence or Solicitation- please keep it Family friendly .
