Blessed Are

...THOSE WHO MOURN, FOR THEY WILL BE COMFORTED. Words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ, as part of the Beatitudes from His Sermon on the Mount. From the Bible, Matthew 5:3-10; also Luke 6:20-26.

Contest Theme: the Christian theme of being mournful, or grief-stricken, sad, downcast in spirit, for a multitude of reasons, even because of one's own sin. Jesus promises hope, spiritual comfort, and emotional healing to those who mourn when they put their trust in Him. Vulnerability opens the door to communion with God. Mourning is a path to Him. Psalm 147:3 supports this concept: 'He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.'

1. Images may have text or no text. Let your artistic creativity flow in this contest! No nudity. As long as the theme is represented in the images, they will be allowed.

2. All mediums are accepted.

3. In addition to being showcased on the homepage, all winning entries and special mentions from this contest will be archived into a group discussion thread under the heading Greeting Cards Gallery. Greeting Cards are mentioned on the group homepage for easy reference.

4. You do not need to be a member of the sponsoring group, Christian Art and Photography, to participate in this contest. However, if you want the chance at Liz's Special Mentions, you need to be a member. At least 5 special mentions will also be displayed in oversized images on the group homepage. These special mentions are outside the contest top winners and may include images that are not top finishers.

5. The admin honors ties.

6. All images submitted to this contest must be owned 100% by the FAA artist. The admin reserves the right to remove any images not meeting the contest rules at any time and without notification.

7. Each participant may submit 3 entries.
